About Central Scientific Instruments Organization
CSIO started in New Delhi but moved to Chandigarh in 1962. Office buildings, R&D laboratories, an Indo-Swiss training center and apartment complexes form his CSIO campus. In December 1967, his imposing four-story building and associated workshops were unveiled. In 1976, his fourth block of four floors was added to house the library, research and development department and other facilities. The modernization of laboratory buildings and infrastructure in the mid-1980s conditioned the laboratory to carry out technological development projects in demanding and promising fields. In September 1994 another administrative block was installed.
