About Delhi Cantonment Board Junior Clerk
According to the provisions of the Cantonments Act of 2006, the Delhi Cantonment Board is an independent body that is under the control of the Government of India and the Ministry of Defence. It performs both mandatory and discretionary duties. The education, public health, sanitation, roads, street lighting, water supply, and birth and death registration functions of the Board are all spelled out in the Cantonments Act. The Cantonment Board is divided into eight wards for administration and civil representation. The Cantonments Act of 2006 also established a number of additional regulations, including the CBAR-2020, the Cantonment Fund Servant Rules of 1937, the Cantonment Land Administration Rules of 1937, and the Cantonment Property Rules.
There are eight elected members, three military members who have been nominated, three ex-officio members (Station Commander, Garrison Engineer, and Senior Executive Medical Officer), and a District Magistrate representative on the Cantonment Board. The Chief Executive Officer (CEO) and member secretary of the Board are both held by an officer of the central civil service known as the Indian Defence Estates Services. The President of the Cantonment Board (PCB), who also serves as Station Commander and presides over Cantonment Board meetings, is in charge of the board. The elected Members serve for five years. The elected members select the Vice President from among themselves. Members of Parliament and Members of the Legislative Assembly (MLA) who represent a portion or the entire cantonment area will receive special invitations to Board meetings without the right to vote.
