The candidate’s general awareness of the environment around him and its application to society will be tested by the questions in this section. In addition, as would be expected of an educated individual, questions will be designed to assess knowledge of current events as well as everyday observations and experiences in their scientific context. Questions pertaining to India and its neighbors, particularly those pertaining to its history, culture, geography, economic scene, general policy, Indian constitution, and scientific research, will also be included in the exam.

English

Fill-in-the-blanks, synonyms, antonyms, spelling/detection of misspelled words, idioms & phrases, one-word substitution, improvement of sentences, active/passive voice of verbs, conversion into direct/indirect narration, shuffling of sentence parts, shuffling of sentences in a passage, comprehension passage, and any other English language questions would be the foundation for the questions in this component.

Knowledge of Official procedures and relevant Rules and Regulations

This component’s questions would test candidates’ knowledge of official procedures, such as the creation of official files and their records; familiarity with GFR (General Financial Regulations); procedures for shopping and stores; preparing official meeting minutes and keeping accurate records; Knowledge of the provisions of the Right to Information Act; Knowledge of the Service Rules, Leave Rules, and GPF, CPF, and New Pension Scheme provisions; making notes and drafts; communication and public relations; correspondence with institutions, both public and private; writing official and semi-official letters handed out by officers, understanding the differences between the various types of letters;

Basics of Computer

General computer processing skills in Microsoft Office, such as Word, Excel, and Powerpoint; familiarity with operating systems; System hardware and software that are appropriate for the position; any additional inquiries regarding computers or IT.

Lab Technician and Lab Assistant

• Knowledge of common laboratory equipment such as burettes, beakers, measuring cylinders, funnels, conical flasks, pipettes, standard flask, test tubes, water baths, distillation equipment, and so on is required.

Technical Assistant

• Equipment A general overview of UV, HPLC, colorimetry, potentiometry, DSC, HPTLC, and flame photometry.
• Dosage forms, pharmaceutical aids, tablets, capsules, liquid oral preparations, powders, and granules, sterile formulations, health screening services for monitoring patients, blood pressure recording, capillary blood glucose monitoring, pulse oximeter, and BMI measurement are all basic knowledge.
• Basic understanding of acids, bases, buffers, indicators, acid-base titration, non-aqueous titration, precipitation titration, solutions’ normality, hematinics, antacids, analgesics, antibiotics, and limit tests.
• GLP; Pharmacovigilance, SOPs for various activities in community pharmacies, general maintenance of laboratory equipment, as well as the chemical and glassware, as well as fire hazards, chemical hazards, chemical poisoning, and lab safety manuals and standard operating procedures (SOPs).
• Microscopy and fundamental aseptic methods
