A Chandigarh man was allegedly defrauded of Rs 16.91 lakh after clicking a link he received on his WhatsApp account. Alok Kumar, who lives in Berana, Chandigarh, said he received a WhatsApp message from an unknown person.
When he opened the message, he found a link, and after clicking it, the suspect hacked his mobile phone and withdrew Rs 16.91 lakh from his bank account. Police registered the case based on the relevant section of his IPC.
